Anjali was introduced to music at an early age by her mother Smt. Tara Basole. She was later taught by
Pt. Madhusudan Bhave, Pt. Vashvant Kshirsagar and Pt. C.R. Vyas. Completing her post graduation in classical music from SNDT, Pune, she pursued her passion under the able tutelage of Dr. Veena Sahasrabuddhe.
Anjali continues to learn the deep intricacies of khayal gayaki from renowned vocalist and guru of Gwalior and Jaipur gharana, Dr. Vikas Kashalkar.
Anjali believes that for her, music is a sādhan (tool) to know oneself. Her music uniquely reflects this belief through her transparent and meaningful expression. Anjali walks her multidimensional path as a performing artist as well as an equally diligent researcher, student and an ever-experimenting teacher of Hindustani Classical Music.
Anjali is a recipient of several awards and fellowships. In April 2011 she was awarded Sangeet Ratna Puraskar by Kashi Sangeet Samaj, Varanasi for her musical contribution. A graded artist of Akashvaani, she is based in Pune. She teaches music to students in person as well as world wide at Shadja Madhyam, a portal of Hindustani Classical Music. She is a visiting faculty of music at Bharati Vidyapeeth and Seam Institite of Communication in Pune.
